About the Fishing Tournament/Charity Event
The Chad Day Memorial Fishing Tournament is a 1 day Catch & Release Fishing Tournament and a 3 day Charity event that's being held at Tarpon Bay Grill & Tiki Bar located at 7150 Tamiami Trail, Sarasota Fl 34243. The fishing tournament will start after the captain's meeting on Saturday, April 5th. Last picture must be submitted by 2pm Sunday, April 6th.
Tarpon Bay Grill & Tiki Bar is an outdoor bar/restaurant on the bay with a menu that offers a variety of delicious food and cold drink options.
The fishing tournament is being held in memory of my son, Chad Day. Chad passed away from Glioblastoma Brain Cancer May 16, 2015 at the age of 24. His love for fishing is why I decided to have fishing tournaments in his memory.
I'm raising money for the Tidewell Foundation to support them for all the help they gave me in caring for my son. We spent the last 2 weeks of his life at Tidewell Hospice in Bradenton. I was able to stay there with him the entire time. They not only took excellent care of my son but also made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Because of all the generous donations throughout the community to the Tidewell Foundtion my son and I received all this care at no cost.
This event is a family-friendly Fishing Tournament/ Charity Event
At the event there will be:
- Raffles (Baskets with various items)
- Silent Auctions
- 50/50 Drawing
- Pool to relax by
- Live Music
Charity Event Raffle Tickets will be available from 2:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, April 4th with drawing that evening. Charity Event Tickets available Saturday, April 5th 11am to 6:00pm and Sunday, April 6th 11am to 3pm.
Winners for the auctions and drawing for the raffles will begin at 3:00 pm April 6th. You do not need to be present to win the raffles but you MUST be present if bidding on an auction item.
All teams registered for the Fishing Tournament will receive a Captains bucket which includes:
- Captains Dri-Fit Long Sleeve Fishing Shirt
- Included Meal & Drink Tickets
- Other Miscellaneous Items in Captain's Bucket
Additional Dri-Fit Long Sleeve Fishing Shirt for anglers are available for purchase when registering for the tournament.
Dri-Fit Long Sleeve Fishing Shirt will also be available for anyone to purchase at Tarpon Bay Grill & Tiki Bar on Saurday and Sunday during the event. Prices are $30 for SM to XL, $35 for 2XL. A Package of Bridgford Beef Jerky ($5 value) with every purchase of a Fishing Shirt.
